Southern Africa is a romantic dream destination that has much to offer that will give you memories to treasure for a lifetime. Stroll the beaches, mountains, and cosmopolitan streets of Cape Town. Discover the thrill of a Big Five safari culminating in a night out in a ‘million-star’ Treehouse. Take in the vibrancy of the South African culture in Johannesburg and Soweto. Share in the wonder of Victoria Falls and its many other treasures. This trip has it all.

Day 1 - 3: Cape Town

You are met on arrival by our Meet and Greet team and taken to the exquisite Cape Cadogan 5 Star Boutique Hotel for your three night stay. This original Georgian-Victorian townhouse, set on a well-connected street in the suburb of Gardens, looks (and feels) more like a private residence. Its individually-decorated rooms and suites are laid out to suit every kind of traveller, while relaxed guest areas and our attentive hospitality encourage you to do as little or as much as you wish.

The Concierge team is on hand to arrange your outings and transfers, and the complimentary shuttle links you to many nearby attractions.  You can book local tours of sights such as Table Mountain, the Cape Peninsula or day trips out to the Cape Winelands with the Concierge team.  If you’d prefer more time in Cape Town, please let us know as we would be happy to add extra nights for your exploring enjoyment!

Day 4 - 6: Sabi Sands

Transfer today to the Cape Town airport for your flight to Skukuza (cost of flight not included). Upon arrival at Skukuza Airport, you will be met by our representative and transferred to the exquisite Lion Sands Narina Lodge for three nights. The lodge, like the Narina Trogon bird after which it is named, is astonishingly beautiful, yet blends unassumingly into the natural environment. Perched on stilts under a canopy of 100-year-old trees just up from the water, Narina Lodge offers you a wonderful sense of remoteness and peace.  Narina Lodge has an air of relaxation, enhanced by natural décor and an open design extending out to generously furnished decks from where you can enjoy panoramic views of the Sabie River. Here you can watch the animals feeding on the riverbank and engage in the social chatter this inevitably stirs, or meditate on the rustle of the leaves. Leading off from the main lodge, raised wooden walkways connect to a spa sala and nine individual suites. Narina Lodge offers exclusive accommodation with private plunge pools and viewing decks overlooking the river.

The Reserve
The Lion Sands private reserve conserves 10 000ha (25 000ac) of habitat within the Sabi Sand Private area and is home to the highest and most diverse concentration of wildlife in the southern hemisphere. You can see all of Africa’s iconic species here, including all of the Big Five, along with a supporting cast of no less intriguing 137 mammal species and over 450 varieties of bird – while having minimal encounters with other people.

Morning Safari
Wake with the dawn chorus for the day’s first game drive. While the sun is just rising, this is peak game viewing time. Encounter nocturnal animals returning to rest and others headed out to hunt. The thrill of being let in on this world (and the coffee stop) will give you a buzz.

Evening Safari
As the day fades, a whole other world of animals emerges into the evening. It’ll take a little more to spot them, but with your guides’ keen eyes and your senses now attuned to the sounds, scents and movements of the bush, this experience captures the very essence of safari.

Bush Walk
Led by your expert guides, these are our walks on the wild side. For those who want to experience the bush, beyond observing it, there is no more real excursion. Feel the grass brush your hands, hear the crunch of scrub nearby, and spot game appear just meters off – exhilarating!

Day 7: Kruger Park, Sabi Sands

Today is a pretty special one as you will enjoy a morning game drive followed by lunch.  In the afternoon is when the true adventure begins as you will be escorted for your exclusive night of a million stars at the Tinyeleti Treehouse. Romantics, adventurers, and solitude seekers alike can discover the magic of an evening out in Africa – in complete luxury. Delivered by safari vehicle to your hideout, you will spend the sunset hours enjoying a gourmet picnic and spotting the animals that wander past (at a safe distance), before turning in for the night beneath a blanket of stars. Tinyeleti, meaning ‘many stars’, offers big views of a remote landscape, globed by an even bigger sky, its lights twinkling down to the horizon.

If you prefer to forgo this experience and keep your accommodation and activities at Narina Lodge you are welcome to do so.

Day 8 - 9: Johannesburg

After a last exhilarating morning game drive you will return to the lodge for breakfast and time to pack up.  Transfer to Skukuza airport for your flight to Johannesburg (cost of flight not included). On arrival you will be met by our Meet and Greet team and transferred to the lovely Residence Johannesburg for your two night stay in complete luxury. You can use this time to enjoy the facilities of the hotel or make use of our professional Concierge team who will be available to organize any excursions you may wish to undertake such as visits the vibrant Soweto township, an outing to the fabulous and informative Apartheid Museum, world-class shopping at Sandton or exploring the origins of man at the Cradle of Humankind.

Day 10 - 11: Victoria Falls

Transfer today to the airport for your flight to Vic Falls (cost of flight not included). You are met on arrival by our Meet and Greet team at the airport after clearing customs and transfer to the lovely Stanley & Livingstone Boutique Hotel, your home for the next two nights. Though thoroughly modern in their luxuries, 16 Suites capture the charm of a bygone era. Their fresh design is an easy-going approach to colonial style, inviting you to make yourself at home. Each has a canopied king-size bed, minibar, slipper bath and walk-in shower, TV lounge, and terrace – for morning coffees and private dinners.

Surrounded by the tranquility of Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve and primely located just 15 minutes from the Falls themselves, Stanley & Livingstone invites you to explore or just relax in one of the continent’s most loved destinations. You have two days to discover the best Victoria Falls has to offer including tours of the falls, village visits, helicopter flights, sunset cruises on the Zambezi River and much more. The Concierge team is available to assist in booking extra excursions for you and the hotel’s complimentary transfers link you to Victoria Falls.

Black Rhino Experience
Included in your stay is the exclusive Black Rhino experience. Victoria Falls Private Game Reserve (VFPGR) was awarded custodianship of four black rhino in June 2006, becoming a designated rhino Intensive Protection Zone (IPZ). The programme has been a resounding success, and the thriving population on the reserve today has surprised even conservation experts. This is all thanks to the extraordinary effort and intelligence of the VFPGR Anti-Poaching Unit. In an effort to drive funding for this critical function, and to bring visitors closer to these extraordinary animals, we have designed the Exclusive Black Rhino Conservation Experience. The late afternoon activity includes an immersive talk with an expert VFPGR Guide, followed by a drive into the reserve in search of the black rhino. This experience is a very personal and unique view into the world of a pre-historic creature now fighting for its survival on this planet.
