Today you will depart from Naiorbi Wilson for your flight to Nanyuki.  Met on arrival and transfer to Karisia Tauren Camp. Set on the edge of a wide plain this beautiful camp looks west to Losera Moru and Mukenya, granitic inselbergs that define our local landscape.  Each tent is furnished uniquely and all the tents offer sweeping verandas from which most of our plains game can be spotted. The grasslands are rich with wildlife and you can spend hours watching animals wander by or photographing the huge variety of birds coming to the birdbath.  

In the evening go for a walk from camp or a walk and drive to a great sundowner spot.

After an early breakfast we will set off on foot with a train of camels to our mobile camp that will be set up on the Ewaso Nyiro River. We will walk across large plains as well as mixed bush. Herds of Zebra, Oryx, Reticulated Giraffe and Grant’s gazelle predominate on the large plains.  In the mixed bush we find Dikdiks, Gerenuk, Impala and Lesser Kudu, if we are lucky enough to see them.

We will arrive at camp in the late morning and our team will welcome us with cool drinks, and a fresh lunch before we relax in the heat of the afternoon.  The river here is perfect for a dip and if we are lucky we can watch elephants coming to drink while we are in the water or on the river banks.

This is a mobile tented camp set up exclusively for you on the river.  Each tent has either a king size bed on the floor, triples or twins, or else we provide beds for those who want them. The bedding is comfortable, showers are hot and available on request and the freshly prepared meals are delicious.

In the evening after hot showers we will relax and enjoy drinks around the fire and a sit down dinner under the stars. Hopefully we will be serenaded by a Scops Owl and the distant roar of a lion.
