This is an amazing adventure from Cape Town into the intriguing West Coast region of the Western Cape to witness an extraordinary spectacle of nature. In the South African spring, over August and September, a brilliant array of diverse wild flowers transform this evocative semi-arid landscape into an unforgettable portrait of extraordinary colour and beauty.

Relax at your charming guest house situated on a working wine farm on the fertile banks of the Olifants River.

Day 2: Vredendal

After a delicious farm breakfast you set out into the interior region of Nieuwoudtville where the wild flowers form an extraordinary carpet of many colours that stretches as far as the eye can see. On clear sunny days, the wild flowers appear to erupt from every sandy nook and rocky cranny, opening up to the blue sky and providing an unforgettable floral extravaganza. You return to your guest house and enjoy the warm, friendly hospitality that the West Coast is famous for.

Day 3: Vredendal

Enjoy breakfast and then set out to further experience the unique beauty of this fascinating region, viewing wild flowers, endemic succulents and birdlife in the Vredendal area. Enjoy a wine-tasting at one of the well-known wine cellars along the Olifantsriver Wine Route.
