Nairobi Westlands Incident – 15 JAN 19
Our thoughts and condolences are with those affected by the recent terror attack that took place near Westlands, Nairobi on 15th January 2019. The government of Kenya have officially announced that the incident is now over.  Such tragic events are designed to create fear and disruption. Sadly, nowhere in the world is immune from a potential terrorist attack and they typically occur in highly populated areas within major cities. The situation occured in the Westlands suburb of Nairobi, a considerable distance from the hotels we utilize on our tours which are primarily located near the international airport. Safari camps are not located near city centres or areas that pose a high risk. We are confident that our guests can continue to enjoy their visits to the safari areas of Kenya in safety and comfort. Currently there are no changes to the tours we have scheduled that start in or transit the city of Nairobi. All tours will be proceeding as planned. We will continue to monitor the situation as well any changes in the advice of the Canadian Government’s Travel Advisory site. Any clients wishing to cancel will be subject to the penalties of the booking conditions at the moment. We wish to assure clients that we have a strong team on the ground in Kenya and have your safety top of mind.
