Chobe is approx 11 000 km2 of wilderness area watered by the Chobe and Savuti Rivers. It attracts huge concentrations of game for a Chobe safari. This includes lion and some of the highest concentration of elephant in Africa. An estimated population of around 25 000 in winter, making a Chobe safari a special one. Game viewing on a Chobe safari is renowned. In the Northern areas near Kasane, both a river-based Chobe safari game viewing experience and a 4×4 vehicle option are available.

In addition, the spectacular annual summer migrations of plains game, especially Zebra, is a highlight of a Chobe safari. It also draws Giraffe, Warthog and numerous antelope including Sable, Roan, Oribi, Reedbuck, Lechwe and the colourful Chobe Bushbuck.

Bird watching opportunities on a Chobe safari are ample, and include some 350 species. This includes the awesome African Fish Eagle, the rare Pell’s Fishing Owl, Saddle-billed Storks, Long-toed Plovers, Pink-backed Pelicans, African Skimmers, Bradfield’s Hornbills and Carmine Bee-eaters.
