As tempting as it is to stay in camp, venture out you should, for Khwai offers one of Africa’s greatest and most exclusive safari experiences. Remember to have your binos ready for lion, leopard, wild dogs and more as you drive through the diverse landscapes. The camp is not only sophisticated and sustainable but we’re also partnered with local communities in Khwai, which make up the majority of our staff. Proceeds from staying at Sable Alley go straight back into the Khwai Village community projects, as well as various wildlife initiatives.

Sable Alley is brand new and ready to rumble having only opened in May 2017, and the 55-square metre tents are comfortable and sylish (and enormous!), with ensuite facilities and indoor and outdoor showers. Enjoy sweeping views of the wildlife-dotted lagoon from each tent – this is world-class game viewing without leaving camp. The game viewing in the area around Sable Alley is fantastic, and you’ll find lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo all in close proximity as well as a multi-coloured array of birdlife. We allow a maximum of seven guests per vehicle and only three vehicles are allowed at any sighting meaning there’s not an overcrowded game drive in sight. There’s an exciting range of activities to get stuck into, including day and evening game drives, mokoro (dugout canoe) excursions (when water levels permit), game walks, viewing hides, and more.
