In the foothills of the scenic southern Drakensberg, which forms part of the uKhahlamba World Heritage site, is the Drakensberg Gardens Hotel. This is Nature in all its glory – grandiose scenery composed of the Drakensberg mountain chain, rivers and lakes. The mountains form an immense amphitheatre dominated by the highest peak – Mont-aux-Sources (3248m). Wonderful diversity of flora and fauna await discovery. The resort is conveniently located on an 860-acre estate bordering KwaZulu Natal Wildlife land, allowing access to spectacular walks and hikes – the most strenuous being a 9 hour hike up the Rhino Horn 9842.4 ft (3000 metres) above sea level.
